Your Focus Impacts Your World
Whether we realize it or not, our own personal attitudes and thoughts aren’t just impacting ourselves. We impact those around us at home, at work, at school, and in the world.
Where are your thoughts? Are you full of “not enoughs,” or are you grateful, focused on the great fullness of life?
I didn’t get enough sleep.
I don’t have enough time.
I didn’t get enough done today.
I don’t have enough money.
When these are your predominant thoughts upon rising and throughout your day, your focus is on what you don’t have, and you influence those around you to focus on their “not enoughs.” This scarcity mindset takes a significant amount of energy to fulfill each day, and does not allow for focus on growth. Even more true, your thoughts seep into your daily actions, and impact those around you. Your teammates react to you, regardless of your role or title, and energy will be diverted from growth, from creating, from developing positive relationships, to the scarcity mindset. This causes those around you to become reactive instead of proactive, to be focused on “not enoughs” instead of seeking opportunities for improvement.
For those of you thinking those scarcity thoughts are true… you truly don’t have enough time, or didn’t get enough sleep, recognize we have the ability to train our minds. Challenge yourself to focus on what you DO have, with a mindset of being truly aware of how great is the fullness of your life. Gratitude for friends, for family, for the warm bed and rest you were able to give your mind and body. Gratitude for the ability to find solutions for your customer’s biggest concerns. Start and end each day focused on your gratitudes, and watch your mindset shift.
You impact more than you may know. The world is relying on each of us to make a difference. May your impact bring about growth.
